Stock split

Dividing each share into several new ones, which lowers the price per share by the same factor. The value of a holding does not change.

Comparison A 2-for-1 split doubles the shares and halves the price; the value stays 10,000. Before 100 shares at 100 = 10,000 After 2-for-1 200 shares at 50 = 10,000
