Privacy policy
What data is processed when you use Wickwise, and why. Short version: as little as possible — no cookies, no third-party tracking, no data selling.
1. Overview
We take the protection of your data seriously and process as little as possible. This policy explains what data is processed when you use wick-wise.com, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). All lessons can be read without an account.

3. Hosting & server log files
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Germany. When you visit the site, the server automatically stores technical data such as IP address, date and time, pages visited, browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the site securely and to detect misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with our host.
5. Visitor statistics without cookies
To understand which lessons are read and how visitors move through the site, we keep our own statistics on our server (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser. From your IP address, your browser type and a random key of the day we create a checksum that recognises a visit on the same day only. The key is deleted the next day; after that nobody — including us — can link the checksum to a person. Your IP address itself is not stored in the statistics.
We store the pages you view with the time, the website you came from (only its address, e.g. google.com), campaign details from the link (utm parameters), the type of device (phone, tablet or computer) and browser and operating system (e.g. “Safari 18 / iOS 18”). At the moment of your visit we also derive the country and the network provider from your IP address (e.g. “Germany, Deutsche Telekom”) — using a database on our own server, without sharing it with anyone; only this result is stored, not the IP address. This also helps us tell automated access (bots) from real visits.
A small script on the page tells our server that the page was shown, how long it was visible and how far you scrolled. It stores and reads nothing in your browser. Only we use this data; it is not shared with anyone and is deleted after 24 months. IP geolocation: IP Geolocation by DB-IP (db-ip.com), licensed under CC BY 4.0.
6. Quizzes & search
Quiz answers and the search on the course map are processed in your browser only. They are not sent to our server and are gone when you leave or reload the page.
7. Fonts, images & diagrams
All fonts and diagrams are delivered from our own server. No connection to Google or other font or content providers is made when you visit the site.
8. Contact by email
If you write to us at info@wick-wise.com, we process your email address and your message to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete this data once your request is fully resolved, unless legal retention periods apply.
9. Links to other websites
Lessons link to sources on other websites, for example regulators and central banks. When you follow such a link, you leave Wickwise; the privacy policy of that website applies there.

11. Data security
This site uses TLS encryption (https). We protect data with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk.
12. Changes
We update this policy when our services or the law change — for example when free accounts or email notifications are added. The current version is always available on this page.
